I praise Him for the opportunity that God gave me to take a computer course. With what I have learned I will be able play, edit, and print the music that I produce in Braille system. Although this course requires the investment of several hours, I will be able to devote more time produce Christian music.

My wife and I keep up with the radio ministry, visiting and sharing the Gospel. I’ve had the opportunity to give some evangelistic concerts in churches in Madrid. We will appreciate your prayers for a project of translation and publication of the book “If God is good why…?” Satan has been actively trying to stop this project several times. Recently as I finished the final draft in Spanish, the whole file was deleted completely from a computer. In spite of this kind of attacks, we keep going on with the project. We praise Him because the Lord has provided a publishing company willing to print and distribute this book in a reasonable price.

Prayer requests:

We thank Him for the different opportunities that He has given us to share His Word with others

For the projects that I have to keep producing music through the computer

For the book that I am translating and for Lord’s provision to finance the publication

For God’s strength upon Kathy after the surgery that she needed.

As a result of my visit to Santa Lucia, Quetzaltenango and Chimaltenango, I contacted six new radio stations, and three of them accepted to air our programs. A pastor of a church that owns a radio station in Santa Lucia expressed great interest in the short programs and immediately requested to be included in our data base. I was able to visit as well other three stations that already transmit the programs. One of these stations is Radio TGN, which is one of the most important radio stations in the whole the country.

Some time ago they discontinued the transmission of the programs, but thanks to my visit, they agreed to air the long programs every Friday in the morning. The directors will try to schedule the programs at other times during the day. Please, pray for the other three new stations that received samples of the programs.

Few months ago it was the anniversary of our church and the Director of Spanish World Ministries was invited to preach during this special celebration. During a breakfast with the leaders of the church, our Director preached about the urgency of proclaiming the Gospel. At the end of his preaching I presented a promotional about our radio ministry. The pastor, and several leaders of the church, felt the call to use the radio in partnership with us.

Therefore, the leaders agreed to pray and consider finding a radio station to sponsor the programs. I praise the Lord because as a result of this anniversary, this church is responding to the call to sponsor the programs.
Prayer requests:

Praise the Lord for the 35 radio stations that are broadcasting our programs all over Guatemala

For the blessing that represent to have our programs once again in Radio TGN and for the 3 new radio stations that agreed to transmit them.

For His protection as we have traveled through different regions searching for more radio stations

For our urgent need to acquire a more reliable vehicle

Recently I traveled through the regions of Zulia and Yaracuy visiting radio stations that already transmit the programs, and we rejoice to confirm that they are faithfully airing our materials.

In Maracaibo I shared about our programs with a pastor, and he immediately requested our programs to transmit them in a radio station that belongs to his church. At the city of Yaitagua I visited three radio stations leaving samples with the directors. I pray that they decide to air them. . Trying to increase the presence of our programs in a greater number of stations in Venezuela, I searched for new radio stations through the Internet.

I sent an e-mail to several of them trusting that the owners will reply to my email.

Last month due to my eye sight problems, I had to travel to Panama. While there, I made contact with some radio stations. God’s blessing upon me was evident since I visited the station with a large coverage all over Panama. I was interviewed, and our short programs were transmitted several times.

During this time, about fifteen listeners called expressing that these programs were a great blessing to them, and the owners of the station decided to air the programs every day. The owner of another radio station showed interest in our programs, but she needs to check with her partners before making a decision. My hope is that the Lord will touch the hearts of these people.

Prayer Requests:

Thank God for his help while traveling in Venezuela, as well as for my trip to Panama. I praise him for the contacts made in that country.

Pray for the stations contacted by e-mail. May the Lord prosper this effort.

Pray for the problems with my eye-sight. May the Lord will be done. My prayer is that He would heal me.

Lidys Frias is a lady in whose place we stayed in Panama. We shared the Gospel with her, and she made a profession of faith. Pray for her spiritual growth.

Uruguay just went through an electoral period. The radio stations have been packed with political advertisements, and it has been difficult for some time to get in. I visited twenty three stations, and most of them do not have spaces for programs such as ours. Nevethless four radio stations decided to transmit our short programs.

In one radio station, the director, after listening to the clear message in both programs, decided to air both of them. We are also sharing about the radio ministry among church leaders in different regions. The population in the region of Rocha is about seventy five thousand people. Just in the capital, there are twenty four thousand.

A pastor in the area told me that there is not one program transmitting the Gospel in the region, therefore he showed a great interest in sponsoring our programs. A missionary that lives in the town of Chui (border with Brazil), contacted me saying that the two radio stations where he had our programs were shut down, but due to the biblical and technical quality of our programs, he felt compelled to sponsor them in another secular radio station in the area.

Agustin is a man who has some physical problems. But he requested samples of our programs to give to people that he knows and have conections with radio stations.

His aim s to find a station willing to transmit them. Several weeks later he called me to say that he had not been able to find a station, and with tears in his eyes he expressed that as he listened to the samples that I gave him, God spoke to his heart in the midst of the trials that he is going through. Although he couldn’t find a station, the programs were a special blessing to him.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

I thank Him for His protection as I traveled through different regions of the country and for the stations that accepted our programs

I praise Him for his faithful protection for me and my family, and for my daughter who has expressed a desire to help me in certain aspects of the ministry

For wisdom as I am planning to visit distant cities in Uruguay, and for His grace as I visit stations and churches

For our need of a vehicle to be able to increase our opportunities of ministry

René Hurtado - Perú

In a government’s web site, I found the information about a radio station in the town of Junin. As I contacted them, they agreed to transmit both programs. I contacted as well, personnel from the government in the town of Casma, and I explained to them the purpose of our programs. I made them aware of the blessing of living according to God’s principles described in the Bible.

Their curiosity led them to ask if I was promoting any specific religion. I told them that the real need of human beings is to establish a personal relationship with Jesus, and not with a religion. They said that they would introduce our programs to the town mayor since he would decide whether our programs are to be transmitted in the government station. Three other stations placed the programs in their programming.

In March God gave me the opportunity to introduce the Gospel in two funerals. The first one it was a believer whose family is not Christian, but they agreed to let me share about the faith in Christ that this believer had. The second was the funeral of another believer who died of cancer. Before she passed away, she expressed her desire to have the pastor from her church preaching from the Bible at the funeral services. During this funeral God gave me the opportunity to share five times the plan of salvation.

Six people expressed their desire to open their hearts to Christ as their savior! Among them was included the oldest sister of the lady that passed away. My prayer is that more than person may have established a personal relationship with Christ

PRAYER REQUESTS:

I praise the Lord for each director and programmer of the stations where our programs are transmitted, as well as for the new stations recently added

I thank the Lord for the willingness of the seminary to allow us to stay in the apartment until the month of July. Pray that the Lord may lead us to find an affordable place to live

For the people in different regions of the country who have been facing difficulties as a result of the heavy rains. Especially in the Cusco region

For those who heard the Gospel through the opportunities that the Lord gave me. That those who made a profession of faith might grow firm in their spiritual life.
