Along with the Director of Spanish World Ministries, we recently visited several radio listeners in three eastern provinces of Cuba. We first went to Holguin, a town that has been blessed with several Christian churches, but where there is still a need to reach many with the Gospel. In this city our programs play a relevant role, reaching new souls and ministering to believers that want to grow in the Lord.
Yordanka has been a listener for several years. About three years ago we visited her for the first time, and she said that she had accepted Jesus as her Savior through one of our programs. Back then we gave her some literature and encouraged her to attend a Christian church. During our recent visit she expressed joy, but we noticed that she had an image of an idol in her living room. Through our conversation she recognized that she did not take seriously her walk with the Lord after the decision that she made years ago.
With tears in her eyes she acknowledged that she needed to reconsider her spiritual condition. After we read a few passages from the Scriptures, she prayed asking the Lord for forgiveness. We trust that this visit will make a difference in this woman’s life. In Bayamó we visited Marizol. Her life is not easy at all, and while not seeing any solution to her situation, she is finding peace and joy through our programs and in the Bible study that she is taking by correspondence. She also finds relief to her difficulties as she calls me to ask for Biblical counseling and prayer.
What a blessing to know that each broadcast in this country is bringing relief to believers like Marizol. We pray that many will come to know Jesus as their personal Savior as the programs are heard in different regions of Cuba.
