ARIEL & YEANETE ACOSTA
In 2005, Ariel Acosta was hired as the webmaster and hosting provider for Spanish World Ministries. His company was operating in Uruguay, but he constantly assisted us in different aspects related to the Internet. Though his business was a good source of income, Ariel and Yeanete enjoyed serving in their church. Eventually, they felt the desire to invest more time in serving the Lord. About four years ago, His business started a decline in the number of clients. So Ariel was confronted with finding a solution. Probably, he could search for new clients to improve his business, but the Lord was opening new opportunities for both of them to serve in their home church. At the same time, Eduardo and Noreen Peirano, our former missionaries in Uruguay, retired in 2020. As we prayed for a new missionary to represent the ministry, the Board of directors considered Ariel and his wife as good candidates to replace the Peiranos. After praying and interviewing the Acostas, they felt that the Lord was clearly showing them that their time would be better invested serving the Lord full-time than owning an Internet business. Since 2021, Ariel and Yeanet have been serving as missionaries of SWM in Uruguay. They serve in an ultimately secularist society. It means that finding radio stations willing to broadcast our programs for free in their country is almost impossible. Currently, we have 30 radio stations that air our programs. Nevertheless, Ariel constantly visits radio stations and encourages churches to use our programs as evangelistic tools.
