FRANCISCO & YAQUELIN ARELLANO

Venezuela has been dealing with terrible socio-economic and political turmoil for the last twenty years. Over four million and a half Venezuelans have fled their country to other Latin American countries. Expecting to find better conditions to improve their situation, the immigrants are exposed to exploitation. Those who cannot flee the country are dealing with a lack of food and medicine. Indeed, Venezuela’s present and future looks hopeless, but not for those who find the true peace and hope that Jesus offers to those who trust him. That is why Spanish World Ministries is investing in increasing the number of outlets airing our programs. The Arellanos were invited to become part of our ministry in 2015. Due to the high cost of gasoline and the lack of transportation, Francisco has been finding it extremely difficult to travel to cities and small towns to promote the programs and supply them to the stations. If he finds a vehicle to go to another city, getting back the next day is very slim. Despite these obstacles, Francisco reports that over 242 radio stations broadcast our programs in Venezuela. It means that the message of hope in Christ is heard 3,500 times weekly. Through WhatsApp (a popular social media platform), Francisco sends our daily devotionals to over 1,300 contacts. A radio listener from Venezuela contacted us with the following request: “Hello, I would like to learn more about God. Can you help me”? Francisco has contacted this listener, and now this person has been introduced to a local pastor in the town where she lives.
